  1. A Song

As I roved out one morning

As I roved out one morning
All in the month of June
To view the fields in splendour
And the crops all in full bloom
As I strolled for recreation I carelessly did go
For to view the grand improvement
Made through the fields of sweet Drimcoe
As I took a wander down by that garden fair
I fixed my mind for to combine
The sights I could see there
Green clad hills with sparkling rills
A pretty place to viewin the month of june
    Where the meadows bloom
All decked with the morning dew
    Upon that way without delay
    My footsteps did descend
To that abode that’s near the road
    Beauties the Hill End
That ancient place where since I can trace
Where dwells the Millars in Drimcoe
They always were the poor man’s friend
    Wherever they did go
