   It is very seldom we see a peddler now, but my father says they used to come long ago two or three times a week. Mr Cassidy from Mountcharles comes round this part of the district about once in the month. The peddlers have many things to sell such as remnants of cloth, boys pants, jersies, boys shirts, stockings, socks, etc, for sale. Sometime when a person is in bad need for anything he is delighted to see a peddler coming. But if you don't want anything you would hate to let a poor man out without buying anything. The man who comes round this part, Mr Cassidy, has a big shop of his own in Mountcharles and then he comes round the country place trying to get them sold a little dearer than at home. Some peddlers carry the goods in suitcases and carry them on bicycles. More have motor cars and others baskets or boxes.
