It was enough to have been wrecked
Upon sweet Loughros strandNine young sailors aboard her
The captain and his wife
Sixty more poor passengers
Were enough to lose their life
It was early by the break of day
She came sailing to the strand
The sailors and the Loughros men
Came safe unto the landWhen the captain and his lady
Arrived upon the strand
She was both cold and wet
With her lap dog in her arms
