- There is supposed to be a crock of gold hidden under a holly bush in a field behind my uncle's house in Letterilly in the parish of Glenties. It is covered by a large flag and there is a black cat guarding the gold. It is believed that the Danes put it there during a fight in which they were beaten.
- There is supposed to be a box of golden treasures and a crock of gold hidden at Lough Caoran about a few hundred yards from my home. This lake is between Tullybeg and Lougheradiff. It is said that fairies put it there, and on a certain night in every hundred years there are fairies seen in this spot.
