- Praiseach buidhe is very injurious to the land and so are thistles. Hemlock is poisonous. There is a weed that kills sheep. When they eat it they swell up and die immediatel(y.) Cruach Phadraig is a little green weed which if placed over a cut or sore will heal it. Heather when boiled makes a lovely dye, whatever colour it is it makes some colour dye.
