- An old Irish tale - Fionn Mac CumailLong ago when Fionn Mc Cumail was in Ballyin Lismore every morning he washed himself at Droicead an Umair. He was so tall that when he bent down to wash himself his two legs were three mile apart. One was in Gleannrán and the other was in Srur. This was the basin where Fionn washed himself. It is still to be seen near the Glengarra School House. The bridge is over the Aba na Séad, and Umar can be seen under the bridge.
When Fionn Mac Cumail lived in Ballyin Cormac Mar Airt was High King in Ireland ( 227-266 A.D.) Fionn was the king of the Fiannia. There was no bridge over the Aba na Séad at the time, but the big rock was there. Fionn hallowed a through out for himself in the centre of this rock which(continues on next page)- Collector
