Donegal soon and his name will be Colm.Colmcille got his name while he was out playing with boys, and one of them said not to call him a nic-name, but to call him Colmcille "the dove of the church", because he was so holy, and that is how he got his name.Colmcille went to Moville to study under a bard and I heard the bard's name was Finan. That was the time he worked his first miracle. I heard one day that the priest was going to say mass, when the mass-servers discovered there was no wine. St. Colmcille heard of this, he took the cruet to a stream near by, he filled it with water and instantly it was changed into wine. This was Colmcille's first miracle.Colmcille's favourite place was Derry, it was there he built his first monastery and preached to the people. He and the monks built little huts along the road and used to dwell in them. I heard Colmcille was a very holy saint(continues on next page)
