- (continued from previous page)the dough is soapy. Then salt and flour are rubbed in. The dough is then divided into four equal parts. Each part is rolled out and cut in triangles which make four pieces.
A pan is greased and the four pieces are baked on it until browned on both sides. Thus until the twelve are made and this is what is termed "fadge". It is rarely seen now but the old people always made and ate it.
Wheaten bread was also a great favourite. It was made with flour and wheat just like ordinary soda bread but the scone almost always consisted of wheat and only a little flour was added to make it stick together. It is eaten still and is delicious and(continues on next page)- Collector
