    To abstain from meat on Boxing Day was known to be a cure for keeping away fever.
    Rose.
    Any one that had the rose can cure another person. The way he can cure it is by making the person who was the rose lie down on the ground and throw three hand fulls of clay on him and make the Sign of the Cross three times also.
    Chicken weed roasted on the fire is a cure for the rose.
    Bee-sting.
    If any person would get a sting of a bee the best thing is to get a blue bag and rub it on it.
    Heart-burn.
    Baking soda mixed with buttermilk is a cure for heart-burn.
    Colds.
    Garlic cut in boiled sweet milk will cure a cold.
    Ringworm.
    The old people say if you put a thimble on ringworm when it is small it will cure it.
    There are some people who have the cure of ring-worm and if a person suffering from this disease goes to these people before sunrise on a fasting stomach he will be cured.
    Get some long grass and light it on a plate and put another plate on top of it, the smoke that is left on the plate will cure ringworm.
    Thorn.
    If you get a thorn, rub a fox's tongue over it and it will come out.
    Hives.
    Ground ivy stewed cures hives.
