- Friday is considered an unlucky day for starting to build a new house.
Monday and Tuesday are supposed to be the luckiest days for marrying.
It is thought unlucky to go in to live in a new house during Lent.
It is also thought unlucky to go to live in a new house on a Saturday. There is an old saying- "Saturday flitting - short sitting".
