  1. A cure for a stye in the eye is to pull nine “jags” from a gooseberry bush. The person who pulls them points the nine “jags” one by one at the sore eye, throws the last one over his left shoulder, and the stye will be cured in nine hours.
    For warts find a black snail without looking for it, and rub the snail over the warts three times. Afterwards tie a fine cord tightly round the snail, and hang it on a bush. And as the snail melts away so will the warts.
    A cure for measles is by drinking nettle tea which is made by boiling nettles in water and pouring the juice into a cup and adding sugar and milk.
    David Patterson Race end makes a plaster which is a cure for cancer. The secret has been handed down from his ancestors, and he has a brother in the United States of America who is saving thousands of people from that most deadly disease.
    There are two brothers named Wilkin(?) who live in the townland of Cloughroe. These men make a plaster for the disease
