There is a story told about the robin in connection with the Saviour and it is this. When the Saviour was going to be crucified there was a man who had sown wheat in a field the day before the Saviour passed through the field. And when the men came looking for the Saviour the robin put its breast to every little drop of blood and dried it up, and when the men came looking for Him the robin told them that no man passed through the field since the wheat was sown and so by doing that turned the men.
It is said that when a seagull comes from the sea to the mountains it is a sign of bad weather, and as the poet says
    Seagull, Seagull,
    Sit upon the sand,
    It's ne'er good weather,
    When you come to land.
