- There are two forges in this district. The local smith is called James Mc. Donald, [?] Killyclug. His people have been smiths for many years.
The forge is not very big. The door is bigger than an ordinary door. Bellows are built in the wall. There is a handle to move them up and down to make wind. The smith shoes horses.
The implements used are bellows, hammers, files, tongs, a poker and punches.
Some people wash their hands in forge-water to cure warts.
People gather to a forge at night and they tell stories. When people are gathered at the forge, the news of the country is discussed.- Collector
