    come about the doors and hedges it is a sign of snow. When a dog is seen eating grass there is going to be rain.
    There is an old saying about a ring round the moon and it is : "A far-off ring is a near-hand storm and a near-hand ring is a far-off storm." When the stars are pale at night it is a sure sign of rain. When the clouds are dark there is going to be thunder and when they are white there is going to be snow. When the sun sets red there is going to be good weather. There is another old saying about the rainbow and it is :
    A rainbow in the morning,
    Is the shepherd's warning.
    A rainbow at night,
    Is the shepherd's delight.
    The south-west wind brings most rain to my district.
    When a magpie builds its nest up high there is going to be a good summer. When the swallows fly low it is a sign of rain. When the curlews call loudly there is going to be rain. When the crows dive into the rocks it is a sign of rain.
    When a cat sits with her back to the fire it is a sign of storm and when she washes over her ears it is a sign of a big flood.
    When there is a mist on Glencar it is a sign of rain. When there is a dust on the
