  2. A beggar came into a house where a woman was making farls. She asked him what his name was? He said "Johnny take a farl." The woman said that "Johnny take a farl was a very funny name. He said I will and thank you ma'am.

  3. Many years ago a woman kept a public house in a certain town in Donegal. It was well known that she was stingy in measuring the whiskey. One day a customer ordered half a glass of whiskey.
