    taking the blight.
Some people dig them with spades and others dig them with differs. The children and their mothers pick them. The large ones are gathered and put in pits and the small ones are gathered and put in bags for the farm animals. The large ones are put in pits and covered over with rushes. Then a thick layer of clay is put on top of it to prevent the water from getting in. They are left there until the Month of March.
Then they are lifted and put into a house. The small ones are called skeedins.
