  1. This battle was fought between the O'Donnells and the McSweeney's of the Fanad Peninsula. There is a cairn on the top of a hill called Mullach na Blath which is said to mark the burial place of some of those killed in the battle.
    There is a description of the battle in the old history of the district.
    I can't find any stories of a local character in connection with this battle.
