   Long ago there was a highway robber called Sean Crossagh who had his hiding place in this valley and robbed everybody who came his way of their money or anything valuable they had about them. On one occasion he heard there was a regiment of soldiers to pass through this valley so he dressed a lot of sticks and stuck them in the ditch representing guns and stayed at the one end himself.
