Till I was twenty one I lived happy with my mother,
My heart was light and free and I knew not any bother,

For to go and spend a day up among the Glenfin Heather.

One Sunday after Mass when the dinner it was over,
The evening for to pass up the glen I went to rover
By the Salmon Leap so grand and the Castle both together
And the river rippling down from among the Glenfin Heather.
