- The most harmful weeds growing on our farm at home are dockins, thistles, day nettles, yarrow and red shanks. They are harmful weeds because they spread rapidly. The thistles and and benweeds grow only on good land. The dockins are generally found in bad land. Cows can eat some of the weeds such as chicken-weed, dockins, gilgowns, and briskans.
