An old woman came to the well for a cure, and she found that the cross was gone. She went to the priest and when he came and was told what had happened he said he would leave as much cure on the water as was in the cross.
Each year on the first Sunday of September there is a thurus to the well and church. Last year I saw crowds of old men and women from Killmacrenan, Creeslough and many other places come on Sunday afternoon on lorries, motors, sidecars and on horseback.
