- (continued from previous page)in ambush waiting on them. On the 7th of April 1729 the English came through Kinnycally. When the English were going past this army ran out and attached them and a great battle took place. Thomas Burke won this great fight. He only lost five men altogether and he got any arms they had. The English lost all their arms and over 100 of their men were killed. He chased them out of this part of the country altogether. This battle was fought in a field in Kinnycally called the Graveland.(continues on next page)
