- About 90 or 100 years ago, the people used to cut corn and hay with a hook. It was a very slow way, and then they got a scythe, and it was a quicker way. Then they got a reaper, and it cuts it quicker. Now they have a binder and it cuts it, and ties it, and leaves it ready for stooking.
