- (continued from previous page)windows in these houses. They then began to build houses with four corners but about one hundred years before this time there were nothing but thatched houses. These houses had a big wide chimney and the fire was on the hearth. We have houses now and they are more comfortable than the houses long ago and they are slated. Some houses now are two and three storeys high.
The thatched houses long ago had very small windows in them and some of them had half doors on them. The houses before this time had windows but there were no glass in them as we have in our houses now and no doors as we have in our houses now either. Some people had bags on for the door. The people had no electric light or gas or parrifan oil lamps as we have now. They had no grand furniture or cement(continues on next page)- Collector
