- Once upon a time a man was taking home the cows. On his way home he came to a rope which was lying by the wayside. He thought to himself, to take the rope home with him, which he did so.
When he reached home, he tied the rope round the churn. Next day the woman said that she had to churn. They set to the churning. The milk flowed up over the churn. The man's brain was in a whirl. He took the rope and left it where he found it.
When he arrived back again, the butter went down the churn and it was thought that the rope did all the harm.(continues on next page)- Collector
