- There were a big storm in our district the year of 1835. It was a snow storm. The snow was up about six feet deep[?] and the people could not go out for fear they would sink in the snow. The snow storm lasted two days. It was on the month of December. It was the eight-teenth of December.
There was a great wind storm in our district in the year of (1839) This storm in (1839) was on the month of January. This storm did some harm in our district. The[?] roofs was blown of some of the houses our district. It was the thatched houses that the roofs were blown off. There was trees[?] blown down on that year too. The trees[?] fell on the top of the people. - There was a priest in Shandrum and the soldiers was looking for him and they could not get him and they came out to Shandrum and they said that they would give anyone 10 pound if they would tell them where the priest was hiding and there was a poor woman and she had a great liken(continues on next page)
