The smith uses his bellows to force air into his fire to mak it bright and strong.
He has to take the wheel to the river when he is hooping them. The man that brings the wheels has to bring him a load of turf and he puts a big fire beside the river. He puts one of the wheels in the midle of the fire and when it was warm he pulls it out with a hammer and gets a sled and hammer it on around piece of wood until he gets it tight and then he puts it in the river to cool.
The smith has a stone call the hooping-stone for hooping weels.
