- This story was told to me by my granny, Annie McCann, aged 78 years, of Carrowhugh.
There is an old graveyard in the townland of Carrowhugh called Killblaney. It is situated along the shore near the lower road. There is a Mass Rock and cross in it and in the penal days Mass was said there. It was also a burial place for unbaptised children. There are also three other graves supposed to be sailors' whose bodies were washed ashore. Their are stones marking their graves.

- This story was told to me by my aunt, Katie. She lives in Carrowhugh and her age is 50 years. There is a well in Tardrum known as the Talridge. It was blessed by Saint Patrick. There was a cure for warts in it. The people used to rub a spittle on a ribbon and tie it on the cross. The people used to visit the well. There was a man who tried to break the cross of the well. A week later he was found drowned.
