  1. The Care of our Farm Animals.
    Our farm animals consists of a horse, a mare and foal, six cows, a bull, one hundred hens, thirty two ducks, forty three turkeys, five sheep and six pigs.
    The cows are tied by the neck. They are never tied by the horns or legs. They are tied by either chain or a rope. The chain tyings are bought but the rope tyings (were) are made. A branch of emblem is sometimes tied in the byre to bring luck. Music is supposed to make cows milk better.
    There is no stories connected with either milking or cows.
    Pigs are either bought or
