  1. Poem (continued)

One evening as I wandered forth, from daily labour free ¶ To take an observation from the hills of Glenmakee.

Inspired by heavenly wisdom he this great work did begin
I hope in God that it will florish before his race is run
So now my theme is ended I hear the billows foam.
That soon will bear me far away from Eireanns lovely home
And when these bright green peaks will sink beneath my view,
I will climb the quivering mast on high and wave a fond adieu
