“Once upon a time there lived two brothers. There was one of them a low set man and he was a very hard worker. The other was good for nothing.”
Story
Once upon a time there lived two brothers. There was one of them a low set man and he was a very hard worker. The other was good for nothing. They both got married and the low set fellow got a low set woman like himself.
One day the low set fellow went to Scotland. When the good for nothing fellow heard that his brother was away to Scotland he said he would go too, and so he went. When he reached Scotland he walked all day long looking for work but he could get none. At night he began to look for somewhere to sleep but he could get none. At last he went to a man who had a castle and a house which he stopped in at night himself.
The good for nothing lad asked him or lodging. The man said that if he would stop in the castle he would give him plenty of food and whiskey to eat and drink during(continues on next page)- Collector
