    There was a man one time who was always drunk. One day he went to the Parish Priest and asked him for five shillings.

    There was a man one time who was always drunk. One day he went to the Parish Priest and asked him for five shillings. The priest told him to go out on the Altar and pray to the Blessed Virgin and she would give him five shillings.
    The man did as he was told. As he was praying the priest slipped a half-crown into his pocket and then went out. When the man saw him going out he put his hand into his pocket and got the half-crown. He went away again to the town and got drunk. He had to pass
