Ruare died in 907 In 915 its chieftain fell fighting with the monarch Niall Glanubh against the Danes. In 1016 Cudabruna Maclfabhaill was slain by the Munster men Sitrick Maclfabhaill was slain in 1166. Its last chieftain Cathalan Maclfabhaill was slain shortly afterwards.
