    in it. He was taught in it himself. Master Gallagher a native of Gleneely taught in it. He walked every morning to the school. He stayed in this district until his mother died. He then went to America. Miss Vernet taught in it at the same time. She first stopped at Dunmore where there was a big village in the house of an O'Doherty man. She then went to Glebe and stopped in the house of Henry Kane. She taught Arithmetic, Geography, Grammar, writing and reading. They started to write in the third class. She walked to the school every morning.
    John Doherty was paid fifteen pence every quarter by each scholar. Miss Vernet got twelve pounds from the government and when the scholars reached the fifth class they paid her each fifteen pence in the quarter.
