Of scenes romantic and dreams of love.
    XVII
Round the Altar hill there are rich pines growing,
Where the blackbirds sing and the cuckoos call.
    From Redford's bog there's a river flowing
Bound on each side by an earthen wall.

Look further East and see Ballyharry,
See Bootagh Rue and its waters cool.
On winter nights be they dark or stormy,
You will see the lights of the little school.
Sweet Innishowen I must leave thee mourning.
Alas he's gone who gave thee name,
If ancient honours are not returning
Why hold the hero then to blame.
