  2. A poultice of boiled snails or a poultice of groundsel stirabout is good for an abscess. A poultice of cowdung is good for boils. The cure for a whitlow is to dip your finger three times in hot water that potatoes have been boiled in. A piece of bread from a married couple with the same surname before marriage is considered a cure for the whooping cough. Blessed cream is a good cure for ersipleas. The cure for warts is to come on a black snail accidentally and put it on the warts.
