Then he tried to jump back again but his head struck the Tower half way up and left the imprint of his face on it which can be seen to-day. At the back of the Barracks where St. Macculind jumped to there is a holy well.Thomas Ashe was a famous hero. He was a teacher and he taught in Corduff school. He gave his life for Ireland in 1916.
