   A Historic Episode.
   This story told to me about a tower in the grounds of Belcamp. It is square in shape, designed somewhat like the tower of St Doloughs which is about a mile away. It is about fifteen feet broad and twenty five feet high. The tower in Belcamp is situated near a lake. To the right as one enters the avenue the lake can be seen. It was erected in 1778 to the order of Sir Edward Newenham, Bart who represented Dublin in the Irish Parliament was then owner of Belcamp Hall.
   Many great persons dwelled in this tower. James Grattan, Henry Grattan's father the famous statesman and orator. Henry Grattan was disinherited from his home by his parent, for daring to take the popular side.
   Writing to his friend, shortly after his fathers death, Grattan say;
   "Iam now, but not a guest, not an owner, and of which I shall now cease to be a spectator."
