- George McCandles of Milltown Gleneely told me the following story the other day. He says it is quite true for he was present when it happened:- My father said George had a valuable heifer one time. I remember her quite well although I was only a little boy at the time. This heifer took suddenly ill one day and grandfather was very sorry and sent for the Fairy Doctor for he thought she was shot by the fairies. I remember my mother rising, walking towards the heifer and putting her two fingers in the depression made by the shot. Immediately the heifer rose quite well.
