Whenever an unusual light was seen late at night a premature death or some trouble was expected. If a dog barked and cried in the barking it was said and believed that a death would follow in the family very soon.
Wild cats seen on tops of the walls screeching and crying were said to attack horseman coming home late at night. If he hadn't a fast horse the cats would be apt to jump on his neck. At a funeral when the corpse was(continues on next page)- Informant
