- On the west side of Madden's house there is a little square field. Buried in that field is a coronation chain. It is said that it is embedded six feet in the ground. It is not known what part of the field the chain is because the owner of the field not liking people trespassing in his field buried it. Kings used to be crowned there a long time ago. There is no stock in the field only a meadow. The grass is very high. The field is owned by Madden's. It is about a hundered yards in from the road.
- First you must get a tin scraper and scrape raw peeled potatoes into stuff like whole meal flour. Then it is strained and the duce if it makes fine starch. The stuff you have left is like whole meal. This is mixed up then with flour ad a pinch of soda. They are well kneaded(continues on next page)
