    not want to let the daughters know it. She gave a "Ball" and she put some foreign poison in the form of powder in their dancing shoes. It was a slow poison and it was poisoning them gradually but at last they died. She put this powder in their gloves also. They were buried near the house and their graves are to be seen to the present day.
    It is said that the Ghosts of the three daughters still haunt Carrantrilla and guard the gates there at night-time. The last of the family died only this month and is buried in the Protestant graveyard in the ruins of the old Abbey of Dunmore.
