    as he had to pass the house in which the woman had just comitted suicide and with this death and the death of the other woman at Quinaltagh he was a bit nervous about going alone.
    Diskens companion went back with him and so he was left to make the journey homewards to Castle Farm all alone. He too was naturally a bit nervous. When he had proceeded as far as Tom Harte's house about a mile from Garrafrauns he was astounded to see the windows all illuminated (candles lighting on three of them). He did not mind this so much although he thought it strange at such an hour. He came along to Devines and Scahills and all the windows in the two houses were fully lighted up candles as in all.
