    Basket making
    Basket making was engaged in by many people in this locality as late as fifteen or even ten years ago. The following are the different kings of baskets that were made. The Ciseán; the Cléibhín, an Lóid Múirthín; An Lóid Mónadh; The Ciseán was used for carrying eggs, butter and sometimes poultry to market and incidintely the carrying home of goods from the market. Of this there were two types a large one and a smaller one. In the larger Ciseán the handle was part of the body of the basket and in the smaller type the handle was part of the lid.
    The Ciseán Mór A (Sketch A ) was carried on the elbow.
