    6. On May Day no milk was given out gratis for fear the butter would be brought off the milk of the giver. Also a bush is got and a few bunches of primroses are fixed on it and it is called a "May" bush.
    7. When a cow calves, any milk is not given away till the first churning is made.
    8. On the Eve of St. John's a bonfire is made and the coals are then scattered on the fields to help the crops.
    9. The crowd at the bon-fire on St. John's Night need to milk the cows of the neighbours, then buy loaves and cook them in the milk and eat them at the bon-fire.
