    it. It is worked up, and down.
    The barrel churn is worked by putting it into a wood frame, and there is a big handle coming out through the side of the frame. There is a round lid fastened into it, because when in use, it is turned up-side down.
    The churn that we have at home is made of ash. It is not very large.
    It consists of one dash, one handle, and one screw. Those are put in while churning, and taken out immediately after churning.
    When the milk is milked from the cows, the best part of the milk which is sometimes called "strippings", is strained,
