- There are a lot of wild birds around here, namely the Cuckoo, Blackbird, Robin, Swallow, Mackpie, Corncrak and Thrush. The Robin got his red breast when Our Lord was dying on the cross he was trying to take the crown of thorns off Our Lord's head, and a drop of blood fell on the Robin's breast. That is why he is called Robin Redbreast. Most of the birds go away to other countrys except the little Robins.
The Swallow builds his nest in a shed.
The Cuckoo makes no nest of his own. He lays his eggs in other birds nests. Then the eggs are hatched, and the young cuckoo comes out, and hunts the rest of the birds from the nest.- Collector
