- The Piper's TreeFor several centuries there was a large tree on the north side of the road between Milford house and Creggs. This was known to generations of people as the Pipers Tree. It got its name in this way:-
In ancient times when dance halls were unknown and social entertainments few, an old piper used to attend at that tree on Sunday afternoons and play for four or five hours while the boys and girls of the district danced the Rinnce Fada and cake dances on the road beneath the spreading branches of the tree.(continues on next page)- Collector
