- There is a churn to be found in every house in the country. There are but few churns in my district. Some of them are there since long ago and same of them are of new manufacture.
We have a churn at home. It is in the house since my grandmother died about twenty years ago. The churn is round and it is worked by the hand. Butter is made by my mother once each week in winter and three times each week in summer.
Strangers who come in during churning help with the work because it is said that the person who did not help with the work is supposed to bring the butter with him.(continues on next page)- Collector
