- There were many poets in nearly every district in Ireland. One of which was Raftery. Hecomposed a lot of songs and poems, and was very good at composing. He composed anac Cuan, Raftery and Cill Aodain. He was a very famous poet. His people lived in Mayo and that is why he composed the song. Cill Aodain is the name of it.He wrote a song about the disaster at Anaghdown. Some villages were going to a fair in Galway. It was nine miles from Mayo to Galway.
